Shake, rattle and roll

Mount Etna is an active volcano in Sicily, Italy. Mount Etna is the largest active volcano in Europe. It was created by the African tectonic plate converging with the Eurasian plate. Etna, has been growing for about 500,000 and began to erupt in 2001.

There are many towns around it and they are very causios. In the past the authorities have used explosives and created dams to keep the magma away from the towns. People do climb the volcano but only when they are sure that it won't erupt.
