Shake, rattle and roll
Continental Drift
A continental drift was a myth proven in 1912 by a geophysicist and meteorologist, Alfred Wegener. More than 250 million years ago, the continents were all connected. This was called Pangaea. Continental Drift is the process of which the continents slowly drift apart from eachother because of tectonic plates moving.

Plate Tectonics
On Earth there are 7 major tectonic plates, with many smaller ones. The reason why earthquakes happen, mountains or volcanoes form and other geolgical features happen, is because of tectonic plates moving.
There are 3 types of plate tectonic movements they are convergent, divergent and transform plate boundaries movements.
Convergent plate boundaries:Happens when 2 tectonic plates move closer together causing a mountain range or volcanoes.
Divergent plate boundaries: Occurs when 2 tectonic plates move away from eachother causing earthquakes.
Transform plate boundaires: Is when 2 plates slide against eachother
